In the Clear
Just when I thought the Postal Inspectors were watching me blog, I realized they are watching the competition. I wonder if Fed Ex realizes the Postal Service is spying on them.

Dont try to get my Goat.
I think somone was trying to be funny and say that the Postal Service is slow as a goat. If I send a Priority envelope from San Diego, CA to Hartford,CT it gets there two days later every time for only $4.05 Thats 3500 miles. Thats cheaper and better quality service than those other guys. I hope that gets your goat.

Training Day.
My friend from Viet Nam wondered what the last photo was all about so I thought I'd post an interesting article for those of you who don't really know much about the history of the U.S. Postal Service. Click here for the article on trains.

Postal Progress
This is a photo from the Sacramento, California Train Museum. I appreciate the fact that over the years the Postal Service has changed many of the physically demanding jobs into technologically advanced and ergonomically safe working environments. The new flat sorters machines are being installed nationwide and will mostly be manned by Mail Handlers. They have come a long way from sorting the mail inside a train car.

Madness Upon Carrier
A 42-year-old woman named Alveda Tolliver was in Philadelphia Police custody on 6/6/06. Police say Tolliver approached a mail carrier this morning in the 1500 block of Lardiner Street. She allegedly said "it's your day to die," then stabbed the carrier in the arm. The victim, whose name has not been released, was treated for minor injuries and is home from the hospital tonight.
Tolliver is charged with attempted murder and other offenses. These are dangerous times for our fellow Postal Carriers. You have my undivided respect.

Firefox Required
Attention all Postal People Photo Blog viewers. It has come to my attention that Internet Explorer is not that great. It has many flaws and I am here to let you in on some great news. On my page there is a Firefox button that you can click on and download it for free. You will thank me later for downloading this . It is used by most IT professionals and highly rated by computer experts. It provides a faster safer means of surfing the internet. You can still keep Internet Explorer on your computer but when you go to sites such as this one, you will be amazed at the difference when surfing with Firefox. Thats my fellow Postal Employee tip of the day. Dont be scared or afraid of change and remember, one thing us Postal Employees like, is getting anything for free. If you have any questions e-mail me at uspsblog@gmail.com and keep sending in those great photos. Thanks and be safe out there.

Unfortunate Situation
A fellow Postal employee dies today after possibly being struck by a semi-trailer truck. Click here for the story. We all need to be safe out there. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Antoine Thomas.
