You do realize that taking photogrqaphs inside a postal facility is illegal and against regulations. Here's what Poster 7 says:
Photographs for News, Advertising, or Commercial Purposes
Photographs for news purposes may be taken in entrances, lobbies, foyers, corridors, or
auditoriums when used for public meetings except where prohibited by official signs or
Security Force personnel or other authorized personnel, or a Federal court order or rule.
Other photographs may be taken only with the permission of the local postmaster or
installation head.
Sorry SPBS Man. Keying on the Sack Sorter is a Mail Handler position. However as you can see, small parcels get into the mix at times. Thats another issue.
Thanks "anonymous" for your information. I'm glad none of these pictures were taken with my camera. I'll be sure to contact my installation "head" before they contact me. I don't post photos that will violate the sanctity of the mail. I merely post photos sent to me of the men and women of the United States Postal Service that devote their lives to serve the public. Personally I see no security issues being breeched. Most Postal Employees are on the front lines of terrorism on a daily basis as well as soaking up cancerous paper dust. I wonder if the Nation of Postal Employees feel threatened about a photo of a happy employee on a Blog with all the other stress goin on in the world. Though we have modernization of equipment continuously, this is a form of modernization to boost morale, something I feel is overlooked often. Dedicated to the heart beat of America. Well, who is taking these photos, or who is submitting them? Don't these people have better things to do(like their job)than taking pics throughout a gov't facility without permission?

WITH CORRECTIONS: I'm not upset to see happy employees. I know that happy employees, esepcially in P&DC's are rare. That's where I started in the post office. I have no jealousy either. I have the best job in the post office. Don't worry, I'm not opening a case or tracking you down, but just realize that others may not take too kindly to having pictures taken, dislpayed or distributed. I was just sending a reminder of the regs. Surely as a former Navy man you understand rules & regs?

Thank you Anonymous. I appreciate your concern. Pictures I'm looking for are facilities all over the U.S. from the outside, pictures of people that know their picture is being taken, pictures of events or postal related happenings. I will not post pictures violating the sanctity of the mail. I will not post pictures of newly installed automation machines in case the spys from Fed X and UPS are watching. Hahaha. And... believe it or not.. I want this to be the positive side of our employment. I'll have a whole other website for the negative side later. Hahahaha. Yes I was a Navy Man and I got out because of the regulations so that I go out and spread my Irish Wit upon the beautiful people of the world. there is a maintenance supervisor on the day shift who takes hundreds of pictures a week of postal employees. some are hanging on the field maintenance bulletin board. the supervisor says they are for safety observations.
what do you think of that oig?
Funny Syko Tom says noe of these pictures were taken with his camera, but yet many of the pics seem to be from the San Diego P&DC or thereabouts where he works. What gives? Just admit you took them. Heck you are in a couple anyway. As for the other "anon" who asks if I have nothing better to do, I would ask you the same. The guys who take photos for safety observations are a whole different circumstance than taking pics of people goofing off and idling. Don't you all have better things to do, like work? I wonder if your facility manager is aware of this. He will be now...

Ok.. I admit it. I didnt take these particular shots. They were taken by an employee that is hearing impaired with a digital camera. Thank you Anonymous. I am now moderating these comments. I believe in free speech but no one likes a complainer. Do something more constructive with your time like plant a tree or send in your photos if youd like.
